UK Government is set to invest £410M in Fusion during 2025 – 2026 and has selected the West Burton site in North Nottinghamshire as the location for the Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production (STEP) programme, aiming to demonstrate the commercial viability of fusion energy. This initiative in the region will create economic growth and supply chain opportunities across a range of sectors in the East Midlands.
