Heritage Carbon Literacy Training

ABOUT THE COURSE
The Heritage Carbon Literacy Course is a key way for organisations to gain an awareness of the causes and impacts of climate change and an understanding of carbon emissions. It provides a great foundation for individuals, teams and organisations to begin to take steps towards reducing their carbon emissions and become more environmentally sustainable.
This interactive online course takes place over two 3.5 hour sessions, via Zoom, with a small amount of pre-course work before the first session.
After the course, you will be asked to submit two carbon reduction pledges for assessment by The Carbon Literacy Project in order to be accredited as 'Carbon Literate'.

Attendees must:
- Commit to attending both sessions
- Be the only representative from your organisation to attend (if multiple members of your team would like to be trained please contact us directly)
- Work or volunteer for an organisation based in England (due to funding restrictions)
- Work or volunteer for a micro, small or medium heritage organisation (Freelance or Self employed Heritage professionals are also welcome to attend)
Attendees must NOT work for a Local Authority, Higher Education establishment or be a private individual.

The £10 charge for this course is passed to The Carbon Literacy Project to cover your accreditation as 'Carbon Literate'.
STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE
Pre- course work (details to be sent 14 days before the first session)

- Calculate your Carbon Footprint via the WWF online tool
Session 1 - 3.5hrs with breaks

Session 2 - 3.5hrs with breaks
- The policy position
- Carbon footprints
- Low carbon heritage
- Action planning
- Having conversations
- Wrapping up
Post-course work
- Write 2 carbon reduction action pledges and submit to trainer for accreditation by The Carbon Literacy Project.
