Senior Musical - Company
About
From the mind of the most revered composer in musical theatre history, Stephen Sondheim's Company shattered conventions and remains a brilliant trailblazer of the dark-comedy, modern-musical genre. A winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book, this show is a landmark of American theatre… and is at last coming to the Brentwood School stage!
On the eve of their 35th birthday, habitual singleton Bobby contemplates their unmarried state. Through a hilarious and brutally honest series of dinners, drinks, and late-night talks, his well-meaning—and wonderfully intrusive—married friends offer a kaleidoscopic view of the pros and cons of partnership. Bobby's journey to understand love, commitment, and the terror of being alone drives a show that is as funny as it is profoundly resonant.
Featuring a brilliantly unique, brisk, and energetic score that includes some of Sondheim's most celebrated songs, Company's power lies in its vivid and real characters, with each audience member coming to recognise themself in at least one of these unforgettable people. We cannot wait to welcome you to the Wessex Auditorium in December for our run of this one-of-a-kind show, featuring a student cast, band, and behind-the-scenes team who continue to make Performing Arts the beating heart of life beyond the classroom here at Brentwood School.
