Frequently Asked Questions
Can I access funds before the Formal?
Yes, you can access your funds before the event. However, you must follow our standard checks.
If you are under the age of 18, we need to be ensure that there is either a parent/guardian who is happy to take responsibility for the event and the transferring of funds for your event.
To ensure a smooth process when requesting funds, you will need to have the email login and contact details for your TryBooking account under your selected parent/guardian.
To update account email:
- Click on My Account in the top right, then Change Email Login
- Update the email address you use to log in
An activation email will be sent to the new email address. You will need to activate this change in order to complete the changeover process.
To update account contact details:
- Click on My Account in the top right, then Contact Details
- Edit the first and last names
- Edit the contact mobile
Set yourself up as a power user:
If you wish to still be able to access the account using your own email and password, we'd recommend that you set yourself up as a Basic Access User. By doing this you will still be able to access and manage the event you just can't do anything to do with the financial side of things of the event.
To set yourself up as a Basic Access User:
- From the left menu, click Team members and then Basic access users
- Click Add, and enter your credentials as a new user

What ticketing service fees does TryBooking charge?
Should you be taking payment through your TryBooking event, the transaction will be subjected to a processing fee and a ticket fee. These fees vary per region associated with your TryBooking account. Below details these fees per region.
Australia:
For bookings or donations made on events:
- 50c ticket fee (charged to the ticket buyer)
- 2.5% processing fee (charged to the event organiser by default or passed on to the ticket buyer by selection)
For donations made on fundraising pages:
- 2.5% donation fee (charged to the fundraiser by default)
Do you offer discounted pricing for schools and university events?
We keep our fees low for everybody, we do offer local customer support to help you throughout organising your events.
Are there any other costs associated with creating an event?
No, there are no cost associated with creating a event.
There are NO lock-in contracts, sign-up or account maintenance fees, nor any subscriptions.
Fees are only incurred when a paid transaction is processed through your event. Allowing you to run a free event without any cost.
We encourage you to create an account and see for yourself how easy the TryBooking site is to both create and manage your next event or to simply book an event.
Can I customise my own event page?
Yes, you can have full customisation of your own event page. We also provide a widget to allow you to place your event page onto your site.
Is TryBooking secure?
TryBooking is very respectful of the privacy of all users on its site and PCI compliant. View our certificate of compliance. All pages are HTTPS secure, ensuring an encrypted website connection when navigating across the site. Any personal information that may be used by the TryBooking Site in order to carry out its necessary functions is stored on a secured server protected by firewalls and is hosted in Australia. The data itself is also encrypted to further reduce any risk that your information will be obtained and used by unauthorised access. We do not store your full credit card number, only the last four digits are kept and this is to show you which card you have used to make the booking. Given the increasing sophistication of computer hackers, there are no absolute guarantees that our systems will never be accessed without our consent, or that our systems are impenetrable. However, you can rest assured that we take all reasonable measures to ensure the security of your personal information and the bookings you have made.
